The theoretical physics involved were astounding. Don't know how else to describe it.
The futuristic "Dust Bowl." The dictation of education. The dimensional transitions. It couldn't be any more logical.
Yes it's all "Sci-Fi" but every scientific theory was considered "Sci-Fi" at some point in time. This movie nails the scenario it portrays. This will probably remain as my favorite Matthew McConaughey movie forever.
I have to say, it may beat Inception on my scale of favorites if any of the theoretical science comes to fruition. Inception is incredibly fictional, however not impossible and was, hands down, my favorite Sci-Fi movie ever. Interstellar is now in a shoving match with it between my top 2.

A great director tries his hand at a space epic and the results are remarkable.
Thematically, the film is mindblowing; theatrically, the film is mindblowing. There are echoes of Kubrick's 2001, but this time with feeling. There is humour, pathos and incredible scenes of technical wizardry. Special effects sure have come a long way since 2000's The Perfect Storm. The scene featuring the large "mountains" was incredible.
Incredible performances, characters you care about, a long movie that will grab hold of you through its entire length. Matthew McConaghey is great. He is a far more likable and human figure than Di Caprio was in Inception. I'd rank this up with Memento as Nolan's greatest achievement. Great to see him have the time to solve the space epic.

I spent like an hour thinking about it when I was done, its such a heavy movie. Man this movie is truly one of the most emotional films I have ever seen. To imagine a son and daughters lives go by that fast, out of reach, it just tears your heart apart. Thank God I watched this movie before i die.

My personal top 5 scifi movies of the decade: 1) Interestellar 2) Blade Runner 2049 3) Arrival 4) Predestination 5) Rise of the Planet of the Apes I need to watch High Life and Ex Machina, those looks pretty cool. Interstellar is in my opinion Matthew McConaughey's best film. This movie serves as a spiritual successor to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It takes the audience on a journey through space implementing real science into the mix. The emotional struggle between Murph and a father that she doesn't see most of her life is so incredibly touching and well done. I cried 3 times at different points purely because of the emotions felt by Cooper and Murph. Stunning visuals, amazing concept, and an ending that is complex enough that half of the audience doesn't really understand. I love that.
